Dr. Carl C. Papandrea earned his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Saint Elizabeth University, where his research explored complex trauma and the relationship between adverse childhood experiences, attachment, and trauma-related growth. He holds advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy through the EMDR Institute, a transformative approach that supports healing from cumulative stress, complex trauma, and other distressing life experiences.


Carl’s clinical work reflects his innate capacity for connection – his warmth, relatability, and genuine curiosity allow him to build strong therapeutic relationships that foster growth and resilience. Working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, Carl tailors each session to the individual’s needs, integrating evidence-based methods with humanistic, client-centered care. Dr. Carl C. Papandrea  graduated from Saint Elizabeth University’s doctoral program in Counseling Psychology. Carl brings with him a specialization in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy from the EMDR Institute, a psychological game-changer for both cumulative adverse life experiences and more significant or complex traumas, as well as symptom reduction for current experiences by way of Eye Movement Desensitization (EMD) therapy. Prior to his doctoral training, Dr. Papandrea earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Saint Elizabeth University and was inducted into the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. A distinguished Phi Beta Kappa scholar, he also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.



Dr. Papandrea brings more than a decade of experience in emotional health and well-being, including seven years of service in the New Jersey Children’s System of Care as a Supervisor at the Morris-Sussex Caring Partners Care Management Organization (CMO). His leadership, clinical insight, and unwavering commitment to supporting others have made him a trusted figure in both clinical and community settings.


Grounded in a person-centered theoretical orientation, Carl’s work empowers individuals to rediscover their inherent potential, transform self-limiting beliefs, and achieve meaningful change. Carl brings with him over ten years of experience in emotional health and wellbeing, including seven years of dedicated service in the NJ Children’s System of Care as a Supervisor at the Morris-Sussex Caring Partners Care Management Organization (CMO), where he emanated leadership as it’s known by its construct. Carl is a dedicated father and involved community member in the area of youth athletics, as he is often found coaching football and baseball.
